Why can’t I see my client's full credit card number?

The Payment Card Industry (PCI) strongly discourages businesses from storing credit card numbers.  Ever notice how you only see the last four digits on the screen?  That’s because displaying the entire credit card number means it has to be decrypted and rendered in clear text, which poses a security risk and exposes the card number to theft.
