If you received a payment in PayPal, but do not see the corresponding payment, appointment or gift certificate/package purchase in Full Slate, your PayPal IPN settings may need to be adjusted.
If you received an email from PayPal similar to the exampke below, your PayPal IPN settings may need to be adjusted.
Please log into your PayPal account and the following settings are required:
1. Click on your Business Profile in the upper-right corner (the icon is a person's head).
2. Select 'Profile and settings'.
3. Select 'My selling tools'.
4. Click 'Update' next to 'Instant payment notifications'.
- If there's a button labeled "Choose IPN Settings" near the bottom of the page. Click that button
- For Notification URL, enter "https://www.yourbusinessname.fullslate.com/"
- Set "Receive IPN messages (Enabled)" Click "Save" button
- If there's a button labeled "Edit settings" near the bottom of the page. Click that button.
- For Notification URL, enter "https://www.yourbusinessname.fullslate.com/"
- Set "Receive IPN messages (Enabled)" Click "Save" button
If you are still experiencing issues after completing the above, then:
1. Turn off IPN as follows:
a. If you see a page that says "Instant Payment Notifications (IPN)" at the top and a yellow button at the bottom that says "Choose IPN Settings", there's nothing further to do as your IPN settings are okay.
b. If you see a page that has "Current settings" along with two buttons that say "Edit settings" and "Turn Off IPN", then click "Turn Off IPN" and then 'Confirm' that you no longer want to receive IPN messages from PayPal. After this, PayPal will still respond to Full Slate's transaction requests, but will not otherwise try to send IPNs on your account.
IMPORTANT: Turning IPN off is different than disabling 'Message delivery'. If you disable message deliver under 'Edit settings', this will NOT allow Full Slate to receive confirmations from PayPal of successful transactions. So be sure to 'Turn Off IPN', not disable 'Message delivery'.
Example Email from PayPal:
Please check your server that handles PayPal Instant Payment Notifications (IPN). IPNs sent to the following URL(s) are failing:
example.website.com
If you do not recognize this URL, you may be using a service provider that is using IPN on your behalf. Please contact your service provider with the above information. If this problem continues, IPNs may be disabled for your account.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this issue.
